Build Core Strength
Originally, Pilates was the secret tool that dancers and actors
used to improve their posture, concentration and performance.
Now it seems like just about everyone is doing Pilates — because
it’s fun, it works, and it only takes an hour.
The Pilates
Method was designed by Joseph
Pilates to create maximum muscle strength while increasing
flexibility. Widely practiced by top athletes and dancers,
his innovative method focuses on strengthening the deep abdominal
and postural muscles to create a body that is strong, supple
and perfectly aligned.
Why Sanchez Street?
At Carol LeMaitre's Sanchez Street Studios, you'll learn how
to strengthen these core muscles in our relaxed, engaging setting.
Besides the support of some terrific, down-to-earth trainers,
we have the full range of Pilates equipment. Pilates machines
are designed with springs that work as extra
muscles. Unlike working on traditional weight machines, becoming
more advanced means decreasing the resistance — which
means you'll build long, lean muscles and a better, more flexible
body.
While we take our training responsibilities seriously, we
never take ourselves too seriously. So come in to see us. Prepare
to work hard and have fun doing it.
Getting Started
How do you start? Sign up for an intro class or a private session.
The intro class gives you a solid foundation
in Pilates technique in a group setting. The classes are fun and focused, geared
to getting you familiar with Pilates and preparing you to move to a new level
of fitness. If you want a low-cost way to learn the repertoire from the inside
out, this is your ticket to building a better body.
A series of private or semi-private sessions on the Pilates machines ensures
that you get the max out of your hour with a workout specifically tailored to
meet your physical and scheduling needs. Private or semi-private sessions provide
one-on-one guidance, helping you progress as rapidly as possible.
Rehab sessions are designed for those who are recovering from an acute
or chronic injury. We do a thorough evaluation of your body, including assessing
how you move and stand, any pain or injury issues you face, what you’d
like to achieve, and much more. We help you strengthen any weak areas and loosen
the tight ones, to create length and symmetry in the body.
Regardless of how you begin, you’ll learn the basics under the watchful
eyes of one of our precise and personable trainers. Please call us if you would
like to discuss which approach would be best for you.
